Building Table Planner: A Fun Way to Plan Wedding Seating
I got married in July 2026, and during that frantic final month of preparations, my wife and I had to tackle the seating chart. I didn't want to just sketch it out on scrap paper.
While there are probably plenty of free web apps that handle this perfectly fine, I decided to build my own for two main reasons:
- I had already been having a lot of fun experimenting with Antigravity, so I knew it would only take a few hours to put something neat together.
- I didn't want to hit a paywall or be limited by an existing app's free tier.
So, I dove right in. I started with a basic blueprint outlining the core features (guest management, table management, and room/area layouts) and gradually added more advanced functionalities like import/export options and mobile responsiveness.
I didn't care about using a specific web stack—I totally let Antigravity handle all of that under the hood. Any modern stack was fine by my. In the end it is using React+Vite+SQLite, quite simple stack.
If you're planning your own wedding and are interested in testing out this application for your big day, feel free to reach out! :)
